Dell, HPE launch servers aimed at SMBs

#Dell and #HewlettPackardEnterprise on Wednesday rolled out servers designed to cater to small and mid-sized companies.

Both hardware vendors are aiming to entice smaller enterprises to buy entry level rack and tower servers and then ultimately trade up. The wild card is whether smaller businesses will simply go cloud first in the future.

#Dell added new servers to its #PowerEdge 13th generation systems that include the PowerEdge R330 and R230 for racks and PowerEdge T330 and T130 in the tower form factor. The T130 now includes Dell's OpenManage systems management tools for easier deployment.

Intel's latest Xeon processors are in the latest systems from Dell. The main takeaway from Dell's rollout is that it included more internal storage and memory slots for capacity. For instance the T130 has twice the memory capacity relative to its predecessor and the R230 has 00 percent more memory capacity.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise ( #HPE ) also launched new systems for SMBs and included the latest Intel Xeon processors. HPE's two systems for SMBs are available Dec. 1.
