Now, in addition to choosing a preferred hypervisor, StarWind HCA also provides Software-Defined Storage options. Thus, Microsoft users can enjoy the environment they are used to. The news is presented at Microsoft Ignite 2016 in Atlanta, along with a non-disruptive way to add Azure to the setup as a storage tier. StarWind HCA is designed with unlimited interoperability in mind, which means it can seamlessly merge with any IT infrastructure and allows the user to recycle existing or legacy hardware and software to save money. Another recent StarWind development that is now presented at Microsoft Ignite, is AcloudA – the plug-and-play Azure gateway that fits into HDD bay, providing SMB3 and iSCSI cloud connectivity. Basically, it adds Azure or any other cloud storage as a tier for cold data non-disruptively, thus reducing capacity CapEx and OpEx.
