The #Amazon Web Services ( #AWS ) #publiccloud hit a $14 billion run rate in the fourth quarter of 2016, even as its pace of growth slightly fell short of previous quarters, Amazon reported Thursday. With more than 300 new features released on the cloud platform in the fourth quarter, and more than 1,000 in the full year, innovating rapidly remains Amazon's primary strategy for winning new users to its cloud, said Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky during the Q4 earnings call.  "We've been pretty clear this business is [about] giving new functionality for customers, giving price cuts and then working on the operating efficiencies," Olsavsky said.
