Which vSAN 6.6 system requirements do you need to meet?

If you plan to manually configure a #vSAN 6.6 or 6.6.1 deployment, make sure your organization meets these hardware and software requirements before you get started. One option for @VMware vSAN deployment is a turnkey hyper-converged infrastructure appliance, such as VCE VxRail
Such systems are fully integrated and ready to install out of the box. However, organizations that elect to configure vSAN nodes with white box servers and software components need to consider the hardware and software prerequisites for a host server. So, what are the system requirements for vSAN 6.6 system requirements?

From a hardware perspective, VMware vSAN supports most modern server compute and memory features. Network functionality requires a server with a minimum 1 Gigabit Ethernet network interface card, though a 10 GbE NIC is preferable. At the storage level, the server requires either a Serial Advanced Technology Attachment, a Serial Attached SCSI host bus adapter or a RAID controllerwith a minimum of one flash disk for caching -- or storage when the server contributes storage capacity to the vSAN. When it configures servers into a cluster, VMware vSAN 6.6 works with at least two hosts but can support a cluster size of up to 64 host servers.
