HPE to Move HQ From Palo Alto to Santa Clara in Bid to Cut Costs

@Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. is moving its headquarters from Palo Alto, California, to neighboring Santa Clara, bolstering efforts to slim down. “Over the past two years we’ve made tremendous progress towards becoming a simpler, nimbler and more focused company,” Chief Executive Officer @MegWhitman said in a statement. “Our new building will better reflect who HPE is today and where we are heading in the future.” HPE plans to sell its building in Palo Alto and disperse employees to nearby cities including Milpitas, San Jose and the offices of @Aruba in Santa Clara, about 12 miles away. HPE bought wireless networking company Aruba in 2015 and its “state-of-the-art” offices will become the company’s new headquarters. Hewlett Packard’s history in Palo Alto dates back to its founding in 1939. Its current headquarters are at 3000 Hanover Street, near Page Mill Road -- and near Stanford University. Whitman has sought to lower costs after the company was formed when the original Hewlett-Packard Co. split in 2015, creating HPE, which focuses on data-center hardware, and HP Inc., which sells computers and printers.
