Three Technology Providers Offering Data Services for Hybrid Cloud Named IDC Innovators

Three Technology Providers Offering Data Services for Hybrid Cloud Named IDC Innovators March 16, 2018 08:30 AM Eastern Daylight Time FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International Data Corporation (IDC) today published an IDC Innovators report focusing on three technology vendors that are developing data services solutions for hybrid cloud environments. The three companies named as IDC Innovators are @FirstEigen Inc., @FittedCloud Inc., and @Rubrik @DatosIO Inc. 3 technology vendors developing data services solutions for hybrid cloud environments were named IDC Innovators. Tweet this "Data is increasingly diverse, dynamic and distributed. For most organizations, data is generated and stored across a combination of on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud resources. This hybrid infrastructure creates a new set of data management challenges that prevent organizations from efficiently managing and deriving maximum value from all their data. To address these data management challenges, gain a competitive edge, and thrive in the digital transformation (DX) era, organizations need to make investments in cloud while also adopting data services for hybrid cloud," said Ritu Jyoti, research director, Enterprise Storage, Server and Infrastructure Software. FirstEigen offers an autonomous data quality and validation solution that eliminates both anticipated and unanticipated data quality errors and makes data more trustable and useable. FittedCloud uses machine learning in its cost optimization solution that can reduce infrastructure costs, manage risks, and improve operational efficiency. Rubrik Datos IO provides an application-centric data management platform that enables organizations to protect, mobilize, and monetize all their application data

Citrix Acquires Cedexis for Multi-Cloud Management

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The shift to internet infrastructure services in #hybrid and #multicloud environments is creating new challenges for app delivery owners who want to ensure the best end-user experience. It is not practical to expect one set of cloud and network services to deliver best-in-class performance in all app delivery situations. With internet conditions changing every moment across the globe, and their potential impact to performance and infrastructure costs, it is impossible for enterprises without a dynamic app delivery solution to consistently deliver world-class experience. As an industry leader helping enterprises accelerate their journey to cloud, @Citrix continues to innovate with its app-centric management of network resources. To help address the complexity and speed of connecting users to their apps and to data elements over countless network paths in the internet, Citrix is announcing the acquisition of Cedexis, a real-time, data-driven service for dynamically optimizing the flow of traffic across public clouds, data centers, CDNs, and ISPs. Cedexis technology intelligently routes traffic across dozens of CDNs, and hundreds of data centers and POPs globally. By combining Citrix innovations in its industry-leading networking portfiolio with Cedexis technology, our customers can deliver a superior experience to their end users. Whether it is for business to employee (B2E) apps, business to business (B2B), or business to consumer (B2C) apps, enterprises can drive better end-user engagement, higher workspace productivity and infrastructure efficiency by lowering IT’s costs for cloud and network services. The combined power of Citrix and Cedexis can significantly improve app performance in hybrid and multi-cloud environments using Cedexis’ dynamic and programmable intelligent traffic steering technology. This acquisition further differentiates the Citrix secure digital perimeter (SDP) approach to security and performance. With modern distributed applications powered by micro-services in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, Citrix can now offer dynamic real-time intelligent traffic management that enables infrastructure orchestration and real-time actionable insights into end-user engagement. Citrix can deliver high quality of experience regardless of load and latency across different network paths. Cedexis extends our ability to provide customers with deeper real-time insight into network performance and enables intelligent traffic steering for applications in multi-cloud environments.

Dell Channel VP Vitagliano: 'We Essentially Turn Capex Into Opex'

At last week’s #IngramMicro One summit I had the chance to sit down with Frank Vitagliano, #Dell ’s VP of North American Channel Sales. Vitagliano has been in this business a long time, first with #IBM, then #Juniper Networks and now Dell, much of that time with the channel. As a relative newcomer to the space, it was great to get his perspective. For example, Vitagliano says that 70 percent of all the IT products and services delivered in the marketplace go through a solution provider, a number that’s been pretty consistent over the years. He sees plenty of help on the way for providers stuck in the switch to opex spending, and he says Dell and #Microsoft agree: #hybridcloud is the future.

Channel Partners: Will cloud make a dent in channel sales?

Frank Vitagliano: No, and I’ll tell why. Customers still need help relative to cloud and cloud deployment. They need advice: "Help me understand how it works. Help me understand, should it be on-prem? Should it be off-prem? Help me understand what applications or what parts of my business I can comfortably move into a cloud. What are the security requirements?" Which is obviously the biggest deal. They’re going to solution providers every day as trusted advisers, saying, "I need your help." Now the bigger companies, they do some of that on their own, because they have the IT expertise. But a lot of the midrange and below companies, they may go to cloud, but the solution provider’s still in the middle of it, and in many cases building out the platform and supporting it for them.

And, a hybrid model is going to be the norm. Dell World is not just end users or just channel, it’s combined. We had the CEO of Microsoft there, Satya Nadella, and he and Michael [Dell] got up on stage and talked about a number of different things. One of the things he said, was, "Look, if there’s any confusion about whether this is going to be a hybrid environment or not, let me just tell you, surveys have been done fairly recently that said 10 percent of the customers said, 'I won’t put anything out on the cloud.' Ten percent said, 'I’m comfortable putting everything on the cloud.' Which means 80 percent said 'pieces.'" At the end of the day, it’s hybrid. It’s hybrid. And we’re seeing that.{ad}
