This week, sources revealed that #Cisco and #Nutanix are actively discussing a strategic partnership.
Should the partnership come together, it probably won't be revealed until early this fall.
Sources say the partnership would likely involve channel partners selling Cisco UCS servers with software from Nutanix, as well as integration of Cisco's SDN with Nutanix's hyper-convergence technology.
As of now, neither company has publicly acknowledged the discussions.
Tuesday, July 19 - mark your calendars. That's the day EMC shareholders will vote on the company's proposed acquisition by Dell.
The vote on the largest acquisition in the history of IT will take place during a special meeting at the company's Massachusetts headquarters.
Chinese regulatory authorities also still need to approve the merger, which has an expected close date in October.
HPE fired shots at the Dell-EMC merger this week. Senior Vice President and GM Manish Goel said the merger was between "two declining" companies.
He also said, through the merger, that he expected the two companies to "decline faster."
HPE has recently embarked on a recruiting blitz to convert Dell-EMC partners to HPE, including inviting several hundred of those partners to private meetings at HPE Discover this week.
