Dell partners with Red Hat for DSS 7000 storage server

#Dell has announced its DSS 7000 storage server has been built with #RedHat 's recently announced #Ceph Storage 2 software-defined storage platform, making it a robust solution for organisations hoping to use object storage.

Jyeh Gan, director of product management and strategy at Dell Extreme Scale Infrastructure (ESI) explained in a blog post that the company's customers are increasingly seeking object storage solutions because they are flexible and simple to manage.

"Ceph was built specifically for cloud-like storage environments and its robust, automatic cluster management can provide major cost and performance efficiencies for its users," Gan said. "Ceph is also self-healing and has no single point of failure, so you can focus solely on improving data availability for your business."
