EMC's Pivotal to fuel digitisation

In an interaction with Deccan Herald, EMC Global Services President Kevin Roche said that #EMC is taking the concept of digitalisation and applying that to use data and information in a more agile way to our customers.

" #Pivotal provides an open architecture for solutions in the market. It allows the people to build futuristic applications, both mobile-based applications and contemporary- based applications,” he said.

He added that about 90% of organisations are evaluating the implementation of hybrid cloud architectures to enable IT cost reductions and user self-service. As the global cloud war is heating up, Pivotal is in a unique spot that it has formal technology partnerships with Amazon, Microsoft, and Google to support its mega-popular Pivotal Cloud Foundry software.

EMC has opened this open cluster solution that it can be shared by many and allow them to contribute to Pivotal cloud solutions.

" #GE has shown interest in this. Companies and individuals add value in creating this incredibly interesting pieces of components of the digital transformation,” said Kevin, adding that EMC has been improving the infrastructure and supporting the scale out capability.

"It will expose EMC’s value proposition as a company that creates information and data. In contemporary scenario, data will be consumed at a rate that has been unprecedented in the market place,” he said.

When asked about the Dell-EMC merger, Kevin said that it will be one of the largest technology companies of the world and believes that the combination of these two companies are very complementary.

"We believe that we will be able to offer the market a very compelling end-to-end capability in the IT infrastructure space, and we will be able to lead the industry and that is very exciting,” he said.

The EMC Global Services President said Asia is undergoing a rapid transformation. "It is estimated that by 2025, 14 of the world’s mega cities will be in Asia. By 2016, 65% of Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan) enterprise strategies will include a significant digital transformation component and 30% of enterprises will implement software-defined infrastructure in their data centre,” he said.

He further added, "Being a tech savvy country and having a strong customer base in India, India is undoubtedly an important market for us. It is an interesting market for us. Keeping in mind the rapid transformation in India, we have announced a host of products like VxRail and Quantum Leap to enable easy transformation for enterprises in India.”
