#Samsung 's acquisition of engineering-talent rich #Joyent marks a significant turn in strategy for the Korean device maker, one away from organically growing its intellectual property instead to acquiring it.
The deal not only moves Samsung away from its heavy reliance on #AWS for cloud infrastructure and services, but also gives it a framework from which to launch increasingly cloud-dependent mobile features, Internet of Things ( #IoT ) initiatives and possibly shepherd a dive into artificial intelligence ( #AI ), to say nothing of the enterprise mobility credibility it gains.
