San Diego Padres co-owner buys Big Island resort property

Ron Fowler, co-owner of Major League Baseball’sSan Diego Padres, along with his wife, Alexis, have purchased property within the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort on the Big Island for $13 million, Pacific Business News has learned.
Fowler, who is also the executive chairman of the Padres and chairman and CEO of Liquid Investments Inc., purchased 1.37 acres that has a total assessed value of about $2.3 million.

Honolulu-based Nisshin Hawaii Inc. was the seller. In 2014, it purchased the land for $1.8 million, public records show.
The resort is co-owned and controlled by Michael Dell, chairman, CEO and founder of computer maker #Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL).
Dell’s MSD Capital LP and Rockpoint Group LLCbought the resort near Kailua-Kona in 2006 for $503.6 million.
