Hewlett Packard Enterprise ( #HPE ) has announced a new Internet of Things ( #IoT ) security solution, #HPESecureData for #Hadoop and IoT.The solution integrates with #Apache #NiFi and employs HPE format-preserving encryption (FPE) in order to secure IoT dataflows and is now available as part of the HPE SecureData product line. NiFi, HDF and FPE Apache NiFi is an open-source data logistics platform that automates data movement, such as IoT data, while offering real-time data control and management through a graphical Web-based interface. The integration of NiFi in HPE SecureData for Hadoop and IoT allows for security across the NiFi dataflows, with encryption added as close as possible to the IoT Edge. In addition, because of HPE’s partnership with software provider Hortonworks (not to mention a $50 million investment in the company), HPE SecureData for Hadoop and IoT will integrate directly with Hortonworks DataFlow (HDF). HDF is a commercial distribution of the open-source Hadoop software framework, and HPE is currently the only security vendor offering certified HDF integration
