Four senior executives have quit #NTTData Services as the firm sees a leadership change with integration of NTT Data and #DellServices. #Dell 's IT services business was acquired by Japanese IT and telecom major NTT Data for $3.05 billion in May last year. The company officially announced last November that the acquisition process was completed. "At least four senior leaders who were announced to be reporting to NTT Data new management have left the company," said two sources aware of the development. These senior executives are Anand Sankaran, head of infrastructure, cloud computing and security services, Ashutosh Vaidya, head of delivery operations, quality and client satisfaction, Prasad Thrikutam, innovation office head and Raman Sapra, head of digital business and innovation. “As part of the integration of NTT DATA and Dell Services, it was decided that the leader of the Infrastructure, Cloud and Security line of business will be based in the U.S,” a NTT Data spokesperson said in an email response. “It was not feasible for Anand Sankaran move to the U.S., and to that end, it was amicably and mutually decided between the organization and Anand to work on a detailed transition plan with our key stakeholders, and remain in the organization until 30th of June, 2017.” The company however did not comment on the other three exits. “Through the integration process we have judiciously shaped the leadership team with great collaboration between both companies and careful consideration of the best path forward for the company and our clients. India remains key to our business. We are in a stable and strong position to continue innovating and growing globally.,” the NTT Data spokesperson said. Before this the key exit from the joint entity was of Suresh Vaswani. Vaswani was the President of the combined entity of NTT Data and Dell Services and there was an official announcement that he would leave the company in January this year. He served as co-CEO of IT services major Wipro before joining Dell Services. With the combined capabilities in technology services and consulting-based solutions for dedicated verticals, NTT Data Services may prove to be one of competitors of the leading IT services firms. NTT Data had announced in November while Sankaran and Thrikutam would report to chief executive of the joint entity John McCain, Vaidya would report to Bob Pryor, chief operating officer. Exodus of these three key leaders surprised the industry analysts as NTT Data announced they would be part of the new management to drive growth. While Vaidya has more than three decades of experience in the consulting and technology industries, Sankaran has spent more than 15 years in IT services industry. Both them were absorbed into NTT Data Services management from Dell Services. "The reason behind such big ticket exits could be many. At times, after such big acquisition, the old leaders do not find themselves culturally fit to a new team or management. It could be because of overlap of similar positions at at the help," said an industry analyst, requesting anonymity. He added that the industry noticed similar developments after Capgemini bought i-Gate.

Tim Conway on the NTT DATA-Dell Services Integration Process & Systems Integrators’ Roles for Agencies
#NTTDATA closed its estimated $3 billion acquisition of the former #DellServices business in November 2016 to expand information technology services and consulting work for public sector agencies with the backing of a global IT company. Shortly after the deal’s March 2016 announcement, NTT DATA Public Sector President and 2017 Wash100 inductee Tim Conway told ExecutiveBiz the company will seek to apply its intellectual property portfolio in research-and-development work for agencies in an effort to differentiate itself from other pure-play government IT businesses. Conway recently updated ExecutiveBiz on the process of integrating both businesses in this conversation that also included topics such as R&D priorities for the newer and larger NTT DATA and new customer areas Dell Services brings, along with his views on how NTT DATA’s status as a global systems integrator helps it in the public sector market.

NTT Data closes acquisition of Dell Services
#NTTData closed its $3.1 billion acquisition of #DellServices on November 2, finalizing a deal that should help the Japanese company come closer to its goal of becoming one of the top five global IT services providers.
The newly acquired business will on an interim basis be called NTT DATA Services. NTT Data CEO John McCain will have overall responsibility for leading the business, while Suresh Vaswani, formerly president of Dell Services, will serve as president of NTT DATA Services.
NTT Data was already a leading firm in the IT services sector, with approximately $16 billion in global revenue and employees in more than 50 countries. However, the market has seen some notable shifts as offshore providers grow and pure cloud providers like AWS and Google gain market share. Additionally, the sector has seen other deals like NTT's acquisition of Dell Services, such as HPE's decision to spin off its IT services business and merge it with CSC.
For its part, NTT Data -- which is part of the Japanese conglomerate NTT Group -- has been aggressively acquiring other businesses for several years to expand its global reach. The Dell Services acquisition was significant in that there was less than 10 percent client overlap between the two companies, even though they share complementary portfolios.
"Bringing Dell on board really provides additional breadth and scale to a portfolio we've been marketing for many decades," NTT Data president Marv Mouchawar told ZDNet.
In order to capitalize on that, "we'll continue to drive our first and foremost priority, which is ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and unwavering commitment to our clients' success," Mouchawar said, calling that level of service "a key differentiator for us in the marketplace."

With Dell Acquisition, NTT DATA Moves Closer to Being World’s Fifth-Largest Systems Integrator: Tim Conway
#NTTDATA has moved one step closer to becoming the world’s fifth-largest systems integrator. In late March, the systems integration company, which currently ranks No. 6 in the world, announced plans to acquire #DellServices, accelerating the company’s ascent as a global IT services partner. “When you look at what this [Dell Services acquisition] does for us – in the U.S. alone we are projected to be a $5 billion IT services company, part of a Top 10 Global IT services business,” says Tim Conway, president, public sector for NTT DATA. The acquisition, when complete, will benefit federal customers, says Conway, noting they typically see acquisitions focused, in a series of federal pure plays, on where government IT needs currently stand. NTT DATA plans a different approach, says Conway. “What we can do, and what we are putting together, is to provide the services, the innovation, and to a large degree, the re-imagination that’s necessary to take the government to where it is going in the future,” says Conway. That goal includes addressing ever-mounting needs in healthcare and cybersecurity, of course – and leading with innovation driven by the commercial sector.
