LAS VEGAS— Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. ( #HPE ) and #Dropbox Inc., two prominent companies operating in separate spheres of computing, are teaming up to help each other expand their business.
The companies disclosed on Tuesday that HP Enterprise was the hardware supplier behind a shift in Dropbox’s technology strategy. HP Enterprise modified some of its standard computers to help Dropbox store customer data in its own facilities, part of a more than two-year effort to end the file-sharing service’s reliance on Amazon Web Services by moving the data in-house.
