Nutanix hat-trick as BEarena named Australia's best yet again

Sydney-based #BEarena was named #Nutanix partner of the year for the third year running at yesterday’s Nutanix NEXT conference in Sydney. BEarena managing director Darren Ashley welcomed the win as a testament to the relationship between his company and Nutanix. “It’s an endorsement of the relationship we established with Nutanix four years ago. “We saw something in the tech, but more importantly, we saw something in the way they wanted to go to market. Even though we have both grown, the ethos of our relationship has remained the same.” Ashley attributed the success of this year’s accolade to maintaining strong partners as well as growing alongside Nutanix. “We’ve become a Dell premier partner, and will be a Lenovo gold partner next quarter... in addition to that, there have obviously been some big customer wins, with Hyundai also well known to be a customer of ours,” he said. BEarena made headlines in CRN earlier this year with a world-first deployment of Nutanix boxes for a network of radiology clinics in WA, to support vital patient data and imaging. That deployment included the certification of specific radiology software, IntelliRad, and opened up new customer opportunities. “That has brought benefits to other companies within the healthcare sector,” Ashley said. “We have signed a deal with another very large healthcare provider." He said a big challenge in the healthcare industry was system downtime, a concern that could be mitigated with Nutanix technology. “We’ve delivered simplicity to that application, there are no longer any worries about availability, performance, or even how to scale as data grow. It’s now predictable, and understood, and more importantly measurable." The Sydney leg of the Nutanix NEXT conference was attended by 600 industry professionals, growing strongly from last year's showing of 100. Nutanix has been on a fast growth trajectory in Australia, now employing 40 people in its headquarters in Sydney, the site of a technical assistance centre that, along with TACs in Amsterdam, Raleigh, North Carolina and San Jose, provides follow-the-sun support. Further Nutanix staff are based interstate. The hyperconverged vendor recently named former Cisco executive Howard Fyffe as its managing director for Australia and New Zealand.
