Though French said that retail executives have flooded D.C. to make their case, The News tried unsuccessfully through multiple industry groups to query Texas companies on the idea. Of a dozen Texas companies contacted directly by The News, only Dell Technologies responded. "There are many proposals out there, and we're carefully reviewing them now," Dell spokeswoman Lauren Lee said. "We're optimistic that meaningful corporate tax reform will occur this Congress to help strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. based companies." Brady, the Republican from The Woodlands, said it's "understandable that companies that import a lot of foreign products see this change... as a concern."
