Dell EMC gets flexible with VxRack hyper-converged infrastructure on demand

The benefits of #HyperConvergedInfrastructure are driving a transition from the traditional computing architectures to a new topology that provides more flexibility to deploy applications, according to Gil Shneorson, senior vice president and general manager, #VxRail, at #DellEMC, Dell’s infrastructure group. “With traditional storage, you either buy too much or you buy too little. And even if you plan properly, you use only part of it until you migrate that data in, and then you use all of it. … Now you have this technology where you buy small. You don’t have to plan at all, and you can automatically increment,” Shneorson said, referring to Dell EMC’s VxRack HCI system. Shneorson spoke with host Rebecca Knight (@knightrm) and guest host Keith Townsend (@CTOAdvisor), of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live streaming mobile studio, during Dell EMC World in Las Vegas, Nevada. They discussed Dell EMC’s new portfolio offerings around HCI, as well the VxRack offering’s unique pricing models that allows customers to consume infrastructure on an as-needed basis.
