Wipro Digital acquires US company Cooper

@WiproDigital has acquired San Francisco-based design and business strategy firm Cooper for $8.5 million (Rs 55 crore). @Cooper will join @Designit, Wipro Digital's strategic design arm, and grow its footprint in North America. Cooper, which counts @Starbucks and @Google as customers, was founded by Sue and Alan Cooper in 1992. @AlanCooper had created the visual programming language code-named #Ruby, which @BillGates bought and combined with @Microsoft 's #QuickBasic to create #VisualBasic. Cooper is referred to as "The Father of Visual Basic." Design is becoming a critical part of any digital or business transformation and with Cooper's expertise, Wipro hopes to be better positioned to support its clients. "With Cooper, we will now be the preeminent firm for world-class UX (user experience) and interaction design. This coupled with Designit's global strategic design services and our worldclass engineering capability, will allow us to support the complete digital journey for our clients, helping them transform their businesses for the future," said Rajan Kohli, global head and senior vice president in Wipro Digital. Wipro Digital and Designit serve clients from 16 offices around the world.
