Matt Mills, previously #MapR 's president and COO, is replacing Schroeder as well as taking a position on the company's board. Schroeder has served as MapR's CEO since founding the company in 2009. During that time, MapR has grown into somewhat of a #Hadoop darling, with the likes of #AmericanExpress, #Cisco, #Ericsson, and #Samsung running its #Hadoop distro. MapR recently posting its fourth consecutive quarter of record growth and claims to have achieved a 99-percent client renewal rate in the last quarter. Last month, MapR announced a $50 million round of funding in what's seen as its latest step toward an initial public offering. "It was very important for us to bring on a leader who shares the MapR vision for creating the next big platform for business, while maintaining our goal of building a company that will last," said Schroeder. "We found that leader in Matt."
